Spotify signs Kobalt licensing deal for AI-powered covers and remixes
Spotify has signed a licensing agreement with music publisher Kobalt for its planned generative-AI tool that will let users create covers and remixes.
The agreement follows earlier deals with Universal Music Group and Merlin, extending an emerging licensing model in which AI-powered creative features are built around participating artists, songwriters and rightsholders.
